Truth be told, my last vacation was a rhapsody of the seas. You may think I'm being melodramatic, but let me assure you, romance on the high seas is nothing to be scoffed at.
It was a beautiful day in September, and I was on an Athena cruise ship on the way to Venice via the Adriatic Sea. As I sat on the deck sunning myself, and dreaming about the adventures to come, I suddenly heard a voice. A deep, melodious voice that could only have belonged to a tall, dark stranger with gorgeous, dark brown eyes.
"Hello there."
Opening my eyes to gaze upon his handsomeness, I spied a red haired man of medium height with blue eyes. But I was a still in love at first sight. Yes indeed, he was something to look at in his black bomber jacket, like a 1930's stunt pilot. He smiled at me.
"Hi," I said shyly. "My name's Gabe. What's yours?"
"Angela."
The rest, as they say, is history. We spent the whole rest of the cruise in each other's company, and, though I hesitate to admit this, in each other's beds.
But no, it was not a passing crush or a mere infatuation. I tell you, it was indeed a rhapsody of the seas!
