Funny name for a town, but 1770 is when Captain Cook arrived in Australia. Today the town remains as unspoiled as when the captain arrived, and a delightful stop near the Great Barrier Reef. The town of Agnes Water is nearby, and both are about 50 miles east of Bruce Highway in Queensland. Great place for a surfing vacation.
